Maison de la Création et de l'Innovation

The Maison de la création et de l'innovation (MaCI), a university research support unit (UUAR), is a technological platform for experimentation in the human and social sciences.

The MaCI is home to multi-disciplinary research teams and projects and boasts 7000 square meters of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment designed for the development of new research, training and cooperation practices in the fields of innovation, creativity and design, artistic creation and health.

Inaugurated on 22 November 2019, the MaCI building was designed by architect Jacques Ripault and financed to the tune of €22.8m as part of Opération campus. Three local authorities contributed to the funding: the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region (€19m), Grenoble City Council (€2m) and Grenoble Alpes Métropole (€1.8m).

MaCI's missions

Anchored in the Grenoble area and with an international outlook, MaCI is home to teams and projects whose mission is to :

•    contribute to the development of research and training through high-level scientific research

•    strengthen the links between research, training and development

•    promote interdisciplinarity, cross-disciplinarity and participative methods

•    develop cooperation and innovative schemes involving academic and non-academic partners at national and international level : universities, local authorities, businesses, civil society, artists, etc
